4 Reasons to Have a YouTube Channel in 2023

You don’t need 100s of subscribers on YouTube to book clients and make sales. If done correctly, you can consistently bring in leads from your videos. Why?

Because the real power of YouTube is being able to PULL content, not push it, like all of the other social media platforms. Think about it — you’re trying to push Reels and TikToks, Facebook Lives, and even some emails. You’re always trying to reach the most amount of people for as long as the content can live.

But YouTube pulls — people go there when they have a problem that needs to be solved. When they’re looking for a solution. And that’s where you come in — with the answer.

See, content is much less stressful when you’re letting people come to you, not the other way around. And that’s exactly why you should have a YouTube channel in 2023.

#1: Having a YouTube Channel cuts the overwhelm

Everyone and their grandma is vying for your attention on social media. So, you’ve got to get really good at that content, and post lots of it, OR do something totally off the wall.

But with content that pulls, you have their undivided attention when they need it most. That’s why you could have one video from several years ago that’s still driving traffic and converting to leads. Definitely can’t say the same about Instagram or TikTok.

That means YouTube can be considered evergreen content — or content that basically lives forever-ish and drives leads at all times of the year, not just during a launch or promo period.

Which is really great if you’re tired of creating content. The lifespan is much longer making the effort put into it much more worthwhile

#2: YouTube helps you show up on search results

YouTube videos will show up on Google searches because Google owns YouTube. Of course they’re going to put their content at the top of the search. And with a surge of video content popularity, this all makes it much more likely that your videos will show up on searches.

(Note: By searches, I mean ranking on the first page of results, or as close to it as you can get. No one is looking past page two, and that’s if you’re lucky. )

You can also turn your videos into blogs, and embed that videos onto the blog page for ultimate SEO impact. When you start your content strategy with YouTube, you’re putting your efforts into the longest-living, searchable content. This is where you are going to get the best ROI!

Is YouTube for small businesses a long game? Yes. It will take a little longer, that’s just the nature of the game. BUT it will provide you with a higher ROI in the end.

#3: YouTube builds trust and authority

Another important reason you need to have a YouTube strategy for your online business is for the sake of trust and authority. I mean…we all have trust issues these days, and not just because Netflix told us the Love is Blind reunion would be live (and the technical difficulties proved otherwise. I was really looking forward to that, but it’s fine. I’m fine).

I mean everything tech-wise. The explosion of AI blurring the lines between real and computer generated? Constant spam calls, emails, texts? Bogus influencer reviews? What can we trust these days?

Business owners who are showing their faces on screen talking about things they’re qualified to talk about — that’s you!

Seeing you talk about the thing you are promising in your title can help you build authority. Because you’re actually delivering on what you said you were going to deliver on. It’s kind of like an act of transparency.

And it differentiates you. You aren’t the only person in your niche, but the WAY you do it and how you do it is what connects you to your people.

#4: YouTube helps you stay consistent

The rest of your content — blogs, emails, social media — can stem from the content you create for YouTube. I don’t mean just slapping a clip from the video into your email or on Reels, but using the topics and main ideas from the video for everything else.

Each platform has different kinds of content for a reason, so you need to make sure you’re playing to that platform’s strengths. But using the content you have from that video script and using it is how you make this content thing easier.

You can start to get consistent because everything you do leads back to a SOLID content plan over on YouTube. And like they always say… consistency is key
