Convert YouTube Videos Into IGTV Episodes | Follow this simple process!

Being able to repurpose YouTube videos into Instagram TV episodes has been a real game changer for me. This process allows me to repurpose my content so that I can make it work harder for me without any additional work from me. This is amazing for reach! And today, I'm going to show you how you can do it!

Now first things first- you have to know that this isn't a process of pushing a button and having YouTube share your content to Instagram. YouTube and Instagram don't actually like each other. Instagram is owned by Facebook while YouTube is a Google product. And if you didn't know, Google and Facebook are kind of in competition with each other.

That being said, this week's video is going to make the process so much easier. In fact, we're going to be digging into how you can create a template to use over and over so that this will take you no time at all.

One of the things I know to be true is that many of us need to be able to work smarter, not harder so that we can continue to balance everything else in our busy lives. This includes video content. As a mom to two small kids, and a woman with an MBA, it became my mission to make my content really work for me rather than vice versa and repurposing my video content to fit different platforms helps make that happen.

I want to tell you up front. This first time you go through this process you may feel like it takes a little while. But once you've set up your templates and you've gone through the process once, you'll see how much faster it is every other time!

To create the templates, we're going to be using Canva. Canva is such an amazing program to help those of us that don't feel like designers. Once you get to Canva, you'll be able to use their presized templates to get started. You're going to go to the search bar and search for an Instagram Story template. You'll click on that to open a blank template or a predesigned template.

Please note- you want to make sure to not use a video template.

Once you've picked your template and ensured that there are no animations or videos, you get to play a bit. Now you're going to probably have your video playing toward the center of your template so work around that area. You're going to want to design this template to fit your brand.

You can see how I do this by clicking the video above!

Once you've done the graphics, you can also add in some text that will correspond with the video that you'll be publishing on IGTV. And that's it for design! Because after this, you can literally just go in and change the text out every week for your videos. Export the design as a PNG and you're ready to use this in either KeyNote on Mac or PowerPoint OR even Final Cut Pro.
