How to Create Content For Your YouTube Sales Funnel
You’ve heard of funnels for your launches. You’ve heard of them for your email marketing strategy. But did you know that your YouTube content can also help you convert leads when you use a funnel?
Oh yeah — big time, actually! And the secret lies in knowing what type of content to create for each stage of that YouTube sales funnel.
But I’m not one for secrets (unless it’s refraining from telling me what went down in the latest Housewives episode). So, in this post, I’m going to be dishing out all the juicy info on how YouTube content at each stage of the funnel can convert.
Let’s dig in!
Each stage of the YouTube Sales Funnel
At the top of your YouTube sales funnel are your cold leads. These are people who are just now starting to get into your niche and become aware of you. They know they have a problem, but they might not know yet what solution they need (or that you offer it).
At the middle of the funnel, you have people who are somewhat familiar with you, but they aren’t all the way ready to make that next step to buy from you. There’s a little more of a connection that needs to happen first. But they’re making their way there as they get to know you through your content more.
And at the bottom of the funnel, you have your hot leads. These are people who know exactly who you are, what you offer, and are ready to purchase from you. This is your level 10 viewer who is ready to work with you.
YouTube content at each stage of the funnel
Now that you know each of these stages, we can take a deeper look at how YouTube content can help at each step!
Content for the top of the funnel
For the top of the funnel, you want to go with value content.
Value content is basically what you’re seeing right now. I’m giving out helpful information at no cost to you. All those videos with tips, tricks, and hacks you see on YouTube where someone is showing/telling you how to do something? That’s value content!
This is where keywords become helpful. Those people at the top of the sales funnel may not know it’s you who’s offering the solution, but they’re searching for one. And keywords can help you get into their orbit.
Content for the middle of the funnel
At the middle of the funnel, you want to focus on creating more community-centric content. Full disclosure — this one is a little harder to follow through with, at least for me! It requires you to get more personal with your audience and share behind-the-scenes looks at your biz.
It can feel weird at first to do something like a day-in-the-life video, but community content is so important for creating that connection with your audience!
And as I’ve said a million times before, connection leads to conversions!
Content for the bottom of the funnel
Creating YouTube content for the bottom of the funnel is really more about paving a clear path of action for those who are ready.
Those hot leads will watch the same type of content as people in the top and middle of your funnel do. The only difference is that now when they hear your CTAs or mention of your products/services, they’re ready to buy!
I mean think about it…if someone makes it all the way to the end of your videos each time, they must be pretty interested in what you have to say. And that’s where the conversion comes in!
So that means…it’s crucial to make sure those CTAs are strong. While you’re busy prepping people to buy with that value and community-based content, you need to make sure they know where to go when they’re ready to take the next step!
