How to Script YouTube Videos to Get MORE Views
One of the most important parts of growing your YouTube Channel is viewer retention. You want people to actually watch your videos and one of the best ways to do it is with a great video script. That means planning your content out so that you know what you're going to say and you're going to be able to deliver it in the most effective way.
In this video, I'm sharing how to write a script for YouTube videos. We're going to break down the perfect formula for ease of content delivery and for the most optimal viewing experience. Creating a YouTube script isn't complicated and I'm going to show you how to write a YouTube video script, tell you why scripting videos is important and give you script writing tips.
The Hook
The steepest retention drop is always in the first 10 seconds of a video. This means you have just a few moments to create real interest in your potential viewers. Create a hook, a little piece of information or shot of something that will not only engage the viewer but make them want to stick around.
The Intro
Once you've sucked your viewer in, it's time to introduce yourself. But guess what? Most viewers don't actually care about who you are. Instead, they care about what you have to offer to them. What value you can provide them. So quickly let them know what your name is and what value you provide to others.
The Content
This is the meat of your video. It's so important for you to know that you need to get to the content as quickly as possible. People want their pain points address and they don't want to wait around for it. You want this part of the video to be easy to follow. Make use of steps, tips, small pieces of advice.
The Call for Engagement
As you're wrapping up your content, you do not want to signal that your video is over. If you do signal that it's the end, people will click away. Instead, you want to keep them around to the end screen where they can be redirected to another video on your channel. You also want to create engagement. This is a big part of building your community.
The Outro
Again, there is no goodbye here but instead a call to action. Let them know what they can do next with or where they can go to continue learning about the things you've been sharing.
