The Best Content Creation Strategy (Save Time, Be Productive, And MAKE MORE MONEY!)
There are 52 weeks in a year so if you want to post one video or one Instagram or one blog post a week, you need to come up with 52 ideas...
But the key is tying all your ideas together to tell a story that people are excited to come back week after week to hear what you have to say. Otherwise, why will people want to come back to your content?
In January we saw all our stats across the board go up with a content marketing strategy we put into place and today I want to share with you EXACTLY what I did to see my YouTube channel views and subscribers grow by over 30% and my Instagram engagement go up 70%! This is amazing on its own but let's add in how we were able to reach 157% more accounts and it's truly incredible.
Listen closely though... this all happened WITHOUT spending more time on content creation.
Want the formula?
The first thing I did to create content and set up a pretty strong content marketing plan is focused on VIDEO!
Yep - you want to be focusing on video content and your video content creation process. Ready for the big reason?
IT'S GOING TO SAVE YOU TIME! Seriously! You may be thinking that video is time consuming to create but let's dig into how it will save time in the long run.
Knowing my primary content is going to be video, I start to think in quarters. That means I see the year in 4 chunks of three months and I need to have a plan for each quarter. What am I doing during that time? Specifically, what am I launching or promoting in my business because that's where I MAKE money.
Making money here on YouTube from AdSense is cool but I make 40 (yes 4-0) times what I make in AdSense in my business!
This quarter we are finally bringing to life the Video Reframed Summit! If you haven't signed up for this FREE summit to help you get started with and create video content along with building your camera confidence, click here to get your FREE ticket! Yes - It's totally free with 12 speakers all talking about video content! And it's happening online February 23 - 25. The line up for this summit is AMAZING!
Knowing that I'm promoting this summit for the end of February, I knew my content for January and February needed to focus on content creation.
So I came up with monthly themes.
January - content creation and content creation strategies
February is all about video content and how you can start using it best in your business!
You'll need to make sure you are subscribed to see what we have planned for you in March!
Now that I know the content themes, I can start breaking these down into smaller steps for me to create helpful, valuable videos for you.
I dive into research. When I put time into my video content there are a few things I want to make sure I accomplish
The topic is actually needed and is being searched for?
What unique perspective am I going to take on it to make my video stand out?
What do people really want to hear about this topic?
What's the best way to title and thumbnail this sucker?
Because, here's the thing... if no one clicks on it, I wasted my time. And my goal is to make sure you are spending less time creating content!
I did up my weekly posts to YouTube from once a week to twice a week BUT you can still do one video a week to see the same results.
Now that you have 4 video ideas that fit into the monthly theme that's helping you prep your audience for your big launch or promotion, you are going to multiply your ONE video into as many pieces of content as possible
Here's the deal - people aren't following you on every platform and people aren't seeing all your content on each platform. I was taking the kids to Nana's the other day, it LITERALLY looked like a blizzard outside... I thought the kids were going to have to stay home because there was no way the roads were going to be safe!
I got 2 blocks down and there was NO SNOW! We are so wrapped up in our little tiny world that we forget not everyone sees what we are doing. So don't worry about this repurposing tactic because people aren't even going to notice.
When you sit down to film your PILLAR piece of weekly content - your YouTube video AHEM - you can film alternate ending to your video to make it feel like an IG TV episode, Facebook ending, LinkedIn...
You can also pull pieces for IG Feed, IG Stories, transcribe it for your blog, a LinkedIn post... SO MANY OPTIONS.
You aren't RECREATING THE WHEEL! Social platforms LOVE video content and this is the best video content creation strategy you can implement!
Want to know how to throw some lighter fluid on the fire so to speak, here's what I've been doing... writing ONE original IG post each week sharing a story about me or my family or my experience that ties INTO my pilar piece of content!
People love to hear stories and want to connect with you on a personal level so you need to tell stories about your life and when you tie it into your Pillar weekly content it makes everything fit together perfectly! I've also been using my selfie photos for these posts - more real life and less professionally photographed and they get more engagement!
And I've used that IG story in my weekly email newsletter to connect with my list then give them what they came for... the super awesome highly valuable content on my Youtube channel!
So your formula:
Quarterly Promotion
Monthly Themes to lead to the promotions
Weekly content ideas
One Pillar YouTube video a week
Repurpose as much as possible
Tell a story each week!
I will tell you this strategy also caused me to go from booking about 1 strategy session a month to book 7 strategy sessions ALONE in January...
When you work with the BEST type of content - video content, not only do you save time creating content you are still going to make more money because people respond to authenticity (your story) and you reach more people with video content!
