Very First YouTube Video? This Is Everything I Would Do
Filming your very first YouTube video can feel really scary. But this week, I'm going to share with you exactly what I would do if I were starting from scratch. We're going to break down that first video to make it much easier for you to make happen!
There's no doubt in my mind that your first YouTube video will be your hardest. You've probably been researching how to start a YouTube channel for a while now. You've watched the YouTube videos and maybe you've even started planning your strategy and writing that first video script. But if you still haven't taken action on it, it's time for you to take action and make it happen. In this video, we're going to break down everything I would do. We'll talk about what my first video would be to how I would record! Ready to get started?
Step One: Choose Your Video Ideas.
If you don't have any idea what your first video should be about, you're in luck! Tune into the video above for a complete walkthrough on how you can research the best topic ideas for you to get started with!
Step Two: Scripting.
Part of making video easier is having a great game plan in place. This game plan is going to help you know what you want to say in your video to make sure you stay on track and feel confident doing so.
You want to do is open your video with a strong hook. A hook is going to intrigue your audience or give that viewer a reason to keep watching. You have literally 2 - 3 seconds to grab your audience's attention.
Once you've done that, then it's time to dive into the good stuff. Especially if this is your first video, this is your time to show people how much you know, how great you are at story telling, etc. In other words, what is your value here? This is absolutely your time to shine! Remember this is going to work best if you are talking about something you are passionate about. Don't just start a YouTube channel because you think you need to; start a YouTube channel to let your passion shine through!
When you are finished sharing all your amazing value, do not let them know the video is about to be over. You need that viewer to do one of two things! If you have another video, tell them to watch that next! Remember, YouTube loves when people binge watch your content and this is the best way to entice that viewer to do that.
Step Three: Filming.
This is an area that a lot of people get really stuck on. There's this belief that you need some sort of studio equipment in order to film videos. This isn't the case. You can start what you have.
That means if you have a cell phone to film with, that's okay! You can use that cell phone! Truth be told, you want to keep it simple. The simpler the set up, the better you'll feel about film day.
