Week in the Life of a YouTube Strategist and Mom | Behind the Scenes Vlog
A day in the life vlog can be a little challenging because when you're a mom and a business owner, picking up the camera to film that journey can be easily forgotten. But in this video, we're going to go behind the scenes of how I balance it all.
You're going to learn what it looks like to be a business owner and get some of my best tips to ensure you're meeting your goals and you're still taking care of yourself along the way. Let's go!
One thing I've committed to this year is ending my work day by getting off all the make up and getting in a work out. I don't like to work out in the morning but I find that getting that bike ride in after work does wonders for my mood and my health.
If you're a mom, don't feel discouraged over this. It's important that you know that I wasn't always able to work out with the kids running around. It takes time till they're able to entertain themselves but finding that time to take care of your body is so important.
If you watch the video above, you'll see that I mention that I was supposed to plan out content during a specific time. That said, I found that I wasn't able to get those creative juices flowing so I decided to rearrange my schedule a bit.
This brings me to my first big piece of advice. Always be flexible.
There are going to be times when you feel like you can't do something. You'll get stuck on something or you're just not in the mental place to make things happen. That's okay! allow yourself to move your schedule around in order to serve you.
This means DON'T FORCE IT. Allow yourself some freedom to move things around.
I did a lot of content planning this week and you can see exactly what I was working on above. But maybe you're looking to start planning your own content. Click here to watch my Content Strategy playlist where I break down every single step of planning my content out!
The next point I really want you to hear is that you need to always factor in extra time.
Listen, you need to allow yourself extra time just in case you need it. Time for your day to change, time for you to change. Instead of seeing your calendar as this open space that you need to fill to the brim, focus on just a few tasks at a time.
By committing to a few tasks at a time, you set yourself up for success.
So how do you know what to focus on? This is my next big piece of advice for you! Focus on what's important. You may have a ton of tasks that you feel like you HAVE to do when in reality, those tasks won't help your business grow. Instead, focus on the things that are actually important. The tasks the will help you grow, the clients you have, and work them into your schedule.
