7 YouTube Features You Should Be Using To Get More Subscribers!
One of the things that is most important to me is making sure you're confident enough to keep showing up on YouTube. And one of the best ways to boost that confidence is to get more views and more subscribers. Which is why this week, we're digging into some features that you can use to help you get more subscribers on YouTube.
There are some features that you probably don't even know about let alone know that you NEED to use to make YouTube work harder for you. Luckily, these are all easy to implement and you can start taking advantage of them right away!
Home Page Customization
If someone finds one your videos and they head to your channel, are they going to get the best of your content? Or will it be a random selection? Here's the thing- when you get a new viewer on your channel, you want to put your best foot forward. Take some time to really break down your channel homepage to highlight the best of your content.
This is a great place to feature a channel trailer, any playlists or popular uploads.
Branded Watermark
I get so many questions about the watermark. This is an image that will appear in the lower right corner of your videos. It will allow viewers to hover over and subscribe. In order to get them to WANT to hover, it's best to make it look like a YouTube feature.
Playlists
I've said it so many times. One of the best things that you can do for your YouTube channel is to create the Netflix style binge. This is important because when someone watches one video, it doesn't necessarily mean they'll subscribe. In fact, it rarely means that. In order to get subscribers, you need to prove that you're valuable.
And you can do that by creating playlists of content that are relevant to each other. This will show up in searches, in featured content sections and will take your viewer from video to video to video. Thus encouraging a subscribe!
Analytics
I know. This is when things start to feel boring. But analytics are so important for your YouTube channel. Especially since they allow you to see where your current subscribers are coming from. Or more specifically, what videos are driving people to subscribe.
Once you know what kind of content people are subscribing to, you can start to create more content around that particular topic!
Comments
This is an area that can feel overwhelming to manage. That being said, one of the best ways to get people to stick around is to engage. Luckily, YouTube has made this so simple by creating a section behind the scenes where you can see ALL comments in one spot. This means that you don't have to check each video individually in order to keep up with engagement.
Now the next two features are for accounts with over 1000 subscribers but are amazing tools nonetheless.
The Community Tab
This is exactly what it sounds like! A tab on your channel where you can connect with your community in a different way than before! This allows you to really engage with people through discussions, polls or even sneak peeks of content!
YouTube Reels
If you're a fan of Instagram Stories, you're going to LOVE YouTube Reels. This is a nearly identical type of content that YouTube is really pushing right now. It allows you to share in the moment content and one of the best parts about it is that YouTube is showing the Reels to even non subscribers.
This is a great place to repurpose because your Instagram Stories are identical in format. Just be careful of any Instagram specific lingo (swipe up, anyone?) that you may be using.
