How You Can Post YouTube Videos To Instagram WITHOUT Any Apps!
You're making amazing YouTube videos and now it's time to get your Instagram followers to watch them! Getting your Instagram community over to YouTube doesn't have to be hard. Instead, you can use the content you've already created to lead the way.
This week, we're digging into how you can post YouTube videos to Instagram without using ANY apps!
The first thing that you really need to be aware of is that Instagram doesn't allow any clickable links in your captions. This means, you can't really post a caption and then add a direct link to your YouTube video. The link will show up in the caption but since it won't be clickable, most people aren't going to bother trying to copy it elsewhere.
How do we get around that? Easy! We use the link section in our profile. Now Instagram only allows one link at a time. This means that every time you want to direct someone to your newest video, you'll want to change that link. You can see the full process on how to do that in the video above.
Let's talk about the actual video. You may have an amazing video but chances are, it's a little too long to promote on Instagram. The Instagram feed only allows clips up to 60 seconds long. Your YouTube video is definitely longer than that! IGTV allows up to 10 minutes so that can be helpful but we still want to make sure we're directed people to our channels.
In order to do this, we're going to create a teaser video of sorts. Using the footage from your video, pull a few key sections to create a short, one minute clip. I like to use a bit of the hook, to really suck in my audience and then take some of the juicy parts from the actual meat of the content.
To keep your feed looking nice and clean, you can actually add a thumbnail photo to your video file so that when the time comes, you can select that thumbnail. Again, this super simple process can be seen step by step in the video above!
Remember, this is just to give your Instagram audience a taste of the video to entice them to follow through with the call to action you're going to put in your caption.
Speaking of your caption, it's important add a good one! Take time to really hook your audience and make them WANT to follow the call to action you've added. And that call to action?
"Click the link in my bio!"
You want people to click that link so they can go directly to your YouTube video and see the entire thing!
There are a few ways to get the video to Instagram from your computer. You can airdrop it to yourself if you're a mac user. You can email it to yourself. You can also use a 3rd party application like Later or Planoly.
Whatever you choose to use, remember that Instagram is a great way to boost the views on your YouTube videos!
