My COMPLETE Social Media Strategy for 2021 Exposed!

YouTube is just a sliver of my social media strategy and after almost 6 years of building my business… we are taking our social media strategy up a notch!

And spoiler ALERT… It’s NOT including Clubhouse!

2020 was a year of “survival” and just doing what we could but I’m ready to get more organized, more strategic, and use our social media strategy and the platforms we have available to not only increase our visibility and reach but take my business to a new level.

For most of the last 4-5 years, I was managing social media on my own because hey one women team BUT in the past year or so as I’ve had the room to start hiring contractors and officially hired my FIRST full-time employee. this year, I’m ready to have a clear strategy in place BECAUSE social media is the number one way I get clients into my agency and our agency is a HUGE revenue generator for us…

I’ve spent ZERO ad dollars on promoting our agency and it’s made over a half-million dollars since I started it.

But for right now I’m not going to be hiring anyone specifically for this… all though totally hope to by the end of the year! Erin, who has also been my Customer Happiness Coordinator, has also been leading the team with social media content, posting, and strategy.

My full-time hire, Erica will be taking over more of the admin duties inside of my business so I can focus on creating more of the personal connection social content, hosting a weekly live show, scheduling guest on that show, looking to guest on podcasts, and possibly even launching my own podcast!

Yes, this seems like a lot and I want to be clear that there is NO WAY that I could pull this all off alone. If you are a team of one, which I was for many many years, do not think you need to do this to be successful, I just getting this part after almost 4 years.

I’m doing this a lot by REPURPOSING- This is the key. Create a system to repurpose your content so you aren't constantly recreating the wheel and maximize the content you are already creating.

First up my PILLAR content - That content that come hell or high water, it gets done every single week - YOUTUBE!

Everything that I put out on social media starts with my Youtube strategy because I know my Youtube content is going to LIVE THE LONGEST. So I’m putting the most energy into it.

One thing I want to focus more on here on YouTube is having a monthly theme, something to talk about the entire month that I can really deep dive into with you. By focusing on a theme, not only am I getting you excited each week for a video but I’m also creating a series of videos that make sense to go together. This means I can create a playlist and a compilation video.  More chances for me to be found on Youtube without any extra work!

This will help me create content fast and allow me to up-level my new live show I’m hosting here on my Youtube channel every week.

We can also create live templates and recreate those for each series PLUS I can stream simultaneously on Facebook and LinkedIn thanks to Restream and IGTV!

Boom live videos on 4 platforms with no extra work!

I’m also planning to focus more on YouTube stories here and using them on Instagram as well AND the community tab. I’ve loved playing around with the polls feature in the community tab but I really want to use it to connect more with you. Plus YouTube rewards creators that use features they create so let’s make YouTube happy!

On Instagram right now we are posting 5 times a week… that's 3 feed posts, 1 IG TV, and 1 reel…. All of these are repurposed from my Youtube video that week.

It’s been fairly easy to manage but I want to up my carousel game because these are GANGBUSTERS for reach. If you can create posts that people want to save, IG will push your posts to more people!

I’m also going to focus on creating SHAREABLE content - so content people watch to share, maybe even creating the image in multiple colors so people can share the color they like best AND stop stressing over the captions. I’ve had it in my head that I NEED to write a long caption for Instagram … so yes maybe I create one of these a week as I share my story but I could create more if I stopped worrying about making my captions too LONG.

Then, yes, I’m going to be working on my reels game. Reels has really exploded more than IGTV ever did and what I want to do is when I’m creating a Reel, do what my client Virginia Kerr does. Create the Reel outside of the app then upload it to Reels because I can then Upload it to TikTok and YouTube shorts as well.

You’ve got to know by now if I’m creating video content I’m getting as much use out of it as possible.

Next up Podcast!

Yep, you heard me right. After our launch of the Video Reframed Summit, we realized how much content around video and business building we could talk about so we have plans to possibly start the Video Reframed podcast!

Having a podcast also allows me to open to a new audience. Not everyone watches YouTube videos but they want to create YouTube videos for their business.

It also gives me the chance to invite people on and have them possibly promote to their audience thus growing my reach as well and creating the oh so important relationship building piece that's often forgotten about in business building!

Don’t worry, I’m already thinking of ways we can repurpose because I would record myself recording my podcast so we could use clips in as many places as possible.

Seriously repurpose for the win!

Now let's talk about Clubhouse. I have an account but what I don't have is a reason to use it. I can't find the value in it! You can't search it, it's not repurposable... so why invest my time into that? I'd rather focus on the content that is going to give me the biggest bang for my buck and Google wins all of that!

So tell me, where are you focusing this year?
