STRESS-FREE Social Media Strategy [More content in less time 🀯]

Straight up, social media can feel so stressful. Keeping up with all the platforms can drive a business owner crazy! What if I told you that you don't have to spend hours of your time struggling to create content for your social media accounts?

This week, I'm sharing with you my crystal clear plan to help you create a content strategy for your social media in less time. That means less time stressing about your social platforms and more time doing what you love. Ready to learn it?

So first things first, you need a calendar. Now this doesn't have to be a physical calendar, you can absolutely use a digital version. The key here is that you want to be able to view full months at a time. This is going to give you a much clearer picture of what you're working with.

Personally, I use a combination of Google Calendars and a wall calendar from Target's line of Simplified Planner calendars. I also like to look at three months at a time when it comes to my social media. This saves me a lot of time but you can absolutely focus on just one month.

Once you have your calendar, it's time to move on to the next step. You need to schedule your big content. One of my clients, Ashlyn Carter, calls this hero content. This is the big piece of content you'll be focusing on each week. And I always ALWAYS recommend YouTube.

Weekly YouTube videos will not only help you show up more (because, video! It's not going anywhere!), it also lasts forever. This makes it one of the most valuable forms of content out there and will consistently bring you traffic. AKA sales. I currently have a video from 2017 that STILL brings me traffic and customers!

Generally speaking, you should be posting your hero content once a week. This means you'll need to have four videos per month.

So what exactly do you want to post about? What content will you film? You're going to want to focus on content that will answer some frequently asked questions in your industry. What are people already trying to figure out about your industry? What are people asking you? If you blog, what posts perform the best for you?

You can also take time to see what topics are trending on YouTube for your industry. Do a search on YouTube for some topics and see what comes up and how you can add your own twist to it. Once you do that, you'll see how easy it is to come up with a limitless amount of ideas.

After you have your content ideas, it's time to bring that calendar back out! You're going to want to add those titles to your calendar on their live date. So for me, I know my videos are going live on Wednesday. I'm also going to be sharing on my Instagram that the video is live and send out a newsletter. That's two additional pieces of content from ONE video!

But I'm not done yet.

Instead, I'm going to film alternate endings for my video to fit each platform because I'm not in the business of building a huge channel on YouTube with millions of subscribers. I'm in the business of getting clients and customers with my videos so I need them to SEE my videos. This means meeting them where they are.

I'll take my video and add a facebook specific ending to it and share it on Facebook on Thursdays. I'll add an Instagram specific ending for Instagram and post it on IGTV on Saturdays. You can do this for every platform. You can already see how this will pretty quickly fill up your social calendar. But what about the days that you're not sharing the full video?

Easy, this is when you start to think in themes! Create a theme for each day of the week and create content geared toward that theme. For an example, Motivation Monday is a HUGE trend. SO maybe on Monday, I'll share a post motivating someone to go watch my latest video. Tuesdays could be quote days or meme days. This is a great way to get people to share your content.

Once you have a system like this set up, it becomes SO simple to fill your calendar quickly and easily!
